Day 1.
The morning was fuckedz. The limfuxorz was like shouting at the girls for wearing school pants cos they were too short. -.- whatthenut ? Then we left late, sat at the back til we reached the orphange. Over there was like yay. When i just reached there only, there was this little boy that came up to me and was like "I want you." Then he like put his arms around my waist and was like superrrrrrrrrr adorable ! 8D Then we took care of them, helped them with their new building project thingy, just move bricks and clear the rocks. Then we played v'ball and soccer. Gave prizes snapped shots and went home.
Day 2.
Woke up late for devotion and was supposed to report 10mins earlier than the rest. But the teachers forgot. HAHS. Then we went shopping and stuff for ingredients at Mahkota shopping mall. Bought a couple of cans of Jolleh Shandeh. And its like a one percenteh. Then i bought a pretzel, Choc Eclair flavoured. And it looked like sheeetz ! Showed alot of people. And i hope they enjoyed it. Then we went for our cooking competition back at the hotel's breakfast buffet place and cooked spaghetti with Richelle's group. She cooked the noodles and sauce and Mine's made the chocalate sauce for the apples. Which were kinda screwed up. But still edible i think. Hehs.
Day 3.
Woke up dreading that day b'coz we knew that it was drawing nearer to our last day. Went for musuem trips around the area. Bought foodstuffs there. Then we went to another mall that's close to Mahkota mall, shopped for clothes there. I managed to get a new jacket, a shirt and a mask for like 144rm was supposed to be 160rm but she gave discount and i had only 144rm 30 which i had to borrow. Not bad leh. Then went camwhoring and scarring the girls with justin with our masks. Went ghost hunting with the girls and guys. Then we shared ghost stories, talked about Oily man. Hahs.
Day 4.
(Edited for Richelle's sake.) What a morning ! I was woken up by Richelle. And i thought it was a dream. Cos she was like "Eh Gordon, wake up." Then i took a peep and went back to sleep cos i really thought was a dream! Then after awhile, it was really her, in my room, on the bed beside me. LOL. I was damnz shocked luh.
The day of reckoning. The day where we all go "OH EMM GEE, we're going home already ! NO !" Went visiting the sites and stuff. Went to A' Famosa. And on the top of the hill, there were these two guitar pros playing songs with their guitars upside down and they both are LEFT HANDED ! Like super nice luh. Then we took a River Cruise tour down the Melaka River. It was smelly, super smelly. Then we lunched at some buffet place thingy. Sat and ate with Eleanor. Bused back to singapore with her too. Like awesomez luh. We shared tidbits. Made fun of people. Snapped shots of people sleeping. So many things. I think i enjoyed it more than the first day. :P
And yes, that concludes the entire malacca trip. A brief summary. If you wanna read more detailed ones. Read Eleanors, Richelles, Julias and Emporios blogs. (:
HAHA, and yes i'm gonna do a post on Loud Breathing. Was restarted while doing this. But here it goes.
Understanding Sleep
Sleep is a complex neurological state. Its primary function is rest and restoring the body's energy levels. Repeated interruption of sleep by breathing abnormalities such as cessation of breathing (apnea) or heavy snoring, leads to fragmented sleep and abnormal oxygen and carbon dioxide levels in the blood. Excessive daytime sleepiness and various disorders of the heart, lungs, and the nervous system result.
In the 1950's scientists realized that sleep is not just a quiet state of rest. In fact, two stages of sleep occur with distinct physiological patterns-rapid-eye-movement sleep (REM), and non rapid-eye-movement sleep (NREM) or deep sleep. In normal sleep, REM occurs about 90 minutes after a person falls asleep. The two sleep stages recur in cycles of about 90 minutes each, with three non-REM stages (light to deep slumber) at the beginning and REM towards the end. The amount of sleep needed by each person is usually constant although there is a wide variation among individuals.
How sleep occurs and how it restores the body are not well understood. Scientists originally believed that sleep occurs because the brain lapses into a passive resting state from lack of stimulation. Another theory proposed that sleep occurs when the body generates and accumulates sufficient amounts of a "sleep-inducing substance." However, research now suggests that sleep results when specific changes in brain function occur. By studying brain waves, scientists can define and measure various degrees, levels, and stages of sleep.
Sleep consists of a rhythmic combination of changes in physiological, biochemical, neurophysiological and psychological processes. When the rhythm is disturbed or the individual processes are abnormal during sleep, a variety of sleep-related disorders may result.
Sleep and Breathing Disorders
In 1944, the important observation was made that ventilation (exchange of air between the lung and environment) normally decreases during sleep. Even in "normal" people, breathing patterns during sleep may show a few irregularities. For example, a person might experience an average of seven breathing pauses of up to 10 seconds per night without any associated symptoms or problems. However if the breathing irregularities are accompanied by reduced oxygen supply to tissue (hypoxia) and repeated loss of sleep, these people are at risk of developing more serious problems.
Likely Candidates for Sleep-Related Disorders
Some of the people most likely to have or to develop a sleep-related disorder include:
- adults who fall asleep at inappropriate times and places (e.g., during conversation, lecturing, driving) and who exhibit nighttime snoring
- elderly men and women
- postmenopausal women
- people who are overweight, or have some physical abnormality in the nose, throat, or other parts of the upper airway
- night-shift workers
- people who habitually drink too much alcohol
- blind individuals who tend to develop impaired perception of light and darkness and have disturbed circadian rhythms, the cycles of biologic activities that occur at the same time during each 24 hours
- people with depression and other psychotic disorders.
But it's okay. So what if you breathe loudly. I think that's kinda sexy. Haha. Dont get discouraged because of it if you do. Maybe cos you're just tired and so you breather louder than the rest. (:
and i shall end here.
